Microsoft Azure built on a clear foundation, then moved onto and run without surprises

Most Azure problems start before the first workload: subscriptions created as needed, networks that grew one project at a time, and nobody quite sure who can change what. We design the foundation first, move or build your workloads on it, and administer it afterwards so access and costs stay under control.

Landing zone

A foundation designed before anything moves

A landing zone is the set of decisions every workload inherits: how subscriptions and resource groups are organized, how the network connects to your offices and data centers, which identities can do what, where logs go, and which policies stop risky configurations. Getting it right once is much cheaper than fixing it underneath twenty workloads.

We design it with you, with Microsoft Entra ID for identity and Azure Policy for guardrails, and we build it as code so it can be reviewed, repeated and changed safely. A small organization gets a small landing zone; the point is a clear standard, not a large one.

What we do

  • Management group, subscription and resource group design
  • Hub-and-spoke networking, with VPN or ExpressRoute to your sites
  • Identity and access with Entra ID, with privileged roles kept to a few people
  • Policies, tagging and logging applied from day one

Moving and building

Workloads moved, re-platformed or built new

Not every server should move as it is. Some do, as Azure virtual machines; some databases are better on Azure SQL Database or Azure SQL Managed Instance; some applications are worth rebuilding as Azure Functions or containers. We assess each workload, recommend the target and move it in planned waves, as our cloud migration page describes.

New applications we build on the services Azure runs for you. Our own repair-business platform runs on Azure Container Apps, with four role-based workspaces in one application. The document and analytics agents we build for clients run on Azure Functions and reach their data with managed identity, so no password sits in a configuration file.

What we do

  • Workload assessment: move as is, re-platform or rebuild
  • Virtual machine, Azure SQL and storage migrations
  • Serverless functions and containers for new applications
  • Managed identity instead of stored passwords

Running Azure

Administration, security and cost, every month

Once workloads are live, someone has to watch backups, patching, access and spend. We administer Azure to the standard we set: virtual machines patched, backups checked, access reviewed, and alerts sent to people who will act on them. Security recommendations come from Microsoft Defender for Cloud, and the same identity policies that protect Microsoft 365 protect Azure.

Cost gets a monthly review. We look for idle and oversized resources, storage in the wrong tier and steady workloads that would cost less on reservations or a savings plan, and we tell you what we would change, and what it would save, before we change it.

What we do

  • Patching, backup checks and alerting
  • Microsoft Defender for Cloud recommendations worked through
  • Access reviews for owners and privileged roles
  • Monthly cost review and right-sizing

Beyond infrastructure

Azure as part of your Microsoft estate

Azure rarely stands alone. The same tenant holds Microsoft 365, SharePoint and, more and more, Copilot and its agents, and the same identities sign in to all of them. Our Microsoft Consulting team works on Fabric, Azure AI Foundry, Purview and SharePoint, so the infrastructure we build is ready for the data and AI work that comes after it.

Operations platform for our repair division

A web application that runs the repair business end to end: a customer portal for booking and tracking repairs, and separate workspaces for technicians, accountants and administrators. Phase one went live in June 2026; phase two is in progress.

Marketing performance agent for a national food cooperative

Marketing staff ask about paid-media results in plain English. The agent reads campaign data from SharePoint, runs the calculations in Python on Azure Functions rather than summarizing, and returns charts and Word or Excel reports.

    • Campaign KPIs without waiting for an analyst
    • Secure access with managed identity, no stored passwords

    Food manufacturing

    Cloud Consulting

Label comparison agent for a national food cooperative

Compares two versions of a product label, highlights every change, annotates the PDF and returns an audit-ready list of differences. We moved it from Copilot Studio to Azure Functions when the document processing outgrew the low-code platform.

    • Audit-ready differences in one chat turn
    • Rebuilt from low-code to cloud functions

Questions

Common questions

Do we need a landing zone if we only run a few workloads in Azure?

You need the decisions a landing zone records: how access, networking, logging and policies work. For a few workloads that can be a short document and a small amount of code. It becomes a larger design only when you have several teams, regions or regulatory requirements.

Can you take over an Azure environment someone else built?

Yes. We start with a review of what is there: subscriptions, networks, identities with access, policies, backups and spend. You get a list of risks and quick savings, and we agree what to fix first before we take on day-to-day administration.

How do you keep Azure costs under control?

Tags so every resource has an owner, budgets and alerts for each subscription, and a monthly review of idle, oversized and wrongly tiered resources. Steady workloads are candidates for reservations or a savings plan. We report what we found and what each change would save.

Should we use Azure or AWS?

Often what you already run decides it: organizations that work in Microsoft 365 and Entra ID usually find Azure simpler to govern. We work on Azure, AWS and Google Cloud, and some clients use more than one. We recommend from your workloads and contracts, not from a preference.
