ServiceNow licensing: the right subscriptions, quoted, renewed and kept in line with use.

We supply ServiceNow subscriptions alongside the implementation and support work we do on the platform, so the licenses you buy match the processes you run and the people who work in them.

What licenses

Which ServiceNow licenses you need

ServiceNow is sold as subscriptions to products, such as IT Service Management, IT Operations Management, HR Service Delivery or Customer Service Management, in packages with more or fewer features, and is usually priced by the people who work in the platform. The rules differ by product and package and they change, so we check every quote against ServiceNow’s current terms.

What we do

  • IT Service Management, IT Operations Management and IT Asset Management
  • HR Service Delivery and Customer Service Management
  • Packages matched to the features you will use
  • User numbers checked against who works in the platform

Quoting and renewal

How quoting and renewal work

A quote starts from what you want the platform to do. Tell us the processes and the teams involved; we work out the products, the package and the number of users, check them against how the platform will be used, and send a quote with the terms set out.

Before each renewal we review usage with you, so the next term reflects the people and the products you actually use rather than last year’s estimate.

What we do

  • Quotes built from the processes and teams in scope
  • New subscriptions, add-ons and changes in user numbers
  • Usage reviewed before every renewal
  • Licensing and implementation planned together

Support

Licensing in the same conversation as the platform

Because we also implement and run ServiceNow, a license question rarely stands alone: a new process may need another product, and a change in how a team works may mean fewer users. We keep licensing, configuration and support in one conversation, and our managed services team can take on the day-to-day administration as well.

Planning

Purchases timed to the implementation

When licensing and implementation are planned together, each purchase can follow the phase that needs it. Products for a process that goes live next year need not be bought with the first phase, and a package with more features than you will use in the first year can wait until you need them. We set out that plan with the implementation plan, so the two stay in step.

What we do

  • A purchase plan that follows the implementation phases
  • Packages chosen for the features each phase uses
  • Changes to the plan agreed as the phases move

Questions

Common questions

Can we buy ServiceNow licenses through Princeton IT Services?

Yes. We quote and supply ServiceNow subscriptions, on their own or together with implementation and support work.

How do you work out how many licenses we need?

We start from the processes in scope and the people who will work in them, as opposed to those who only raise requests, and check the result against ServiceNow’s current licensing terms. For an existing instance we also look at who has used the platform recently.

Does everyone who uses ServiceNow need a paid license?

Usually not. People who only raise and follow their own requests often need no paid license of their own, while the people who work on requests do. The rules depend on the product and the package, so we check them for your case before we quote.

Can you review our licenses before a renewal?

Yes. We compare what you pay for with what is used and tell you what to keep, add or drop before the renewal date, with time left to act on it.

Buying or renewing ServiceNow?

Tell us what you run on ServiceNow today and what you plan to add, and we will come back with what you need.
