Oracle dbms

In the following use case, as sysdba I am trying to remove the job that belongs to another user - 'AMS2000' that results in error - ORA-23421.

As a sysdba, when you try removing job belonging to another user, you will get ORA-23421

SQL>  BEGIN DBMS_JOB.remove(4002);
2  END;
3  /
BEGIN DBMS_JOB.remove(4002);
*
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-23421: job number 4002 is not a job in the job queue
ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_SYS_ERROR", line 86
ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_IJOB", line 781
ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_JOB", line 180
ORA-06512: at line 1

Using dbms_ijob.remove one can remove job belonging to another schema

SQL> exec dbms_ijob.remove(4002);
PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.

    Zero-downtime move of a 30 TB Oracle database for a global retail bank

    The bank's transaction database served thousands of users around the clock. We built the new Oracle 12c RAC platform on IBM AIX alongside the old Solaris system, kept the two in sync with Oracle GoldenGate, tested everything and switched over with no downtime and no data loss.

    Sybase to Oracle with zero downtime for an e-discovery company

    Sybase was holding back a platform that processes large volumes of legal data. We converted the schema, kept both databases in sync with continuous replication, validated the data and switched over without interrupting the business.

    A city's Oracle database moved off ageing Solaris hardware

    A major California city ran a mission-critical Oracle database on Solaris servers nearing end of life. We mapped the dependencies, confirmed the applications would work unchanged and re-platformed the database to Linux without disrupting public services.

    • No disruption to public services
    • Minimal application changes
