How to sign in to Power BI using MS Office 365 or Azure AD

In a digital age where vast data expands on a regular basis, you need a simple and rapid solution to identify what information is significant and relevant for you. Power BI encourages the use of innovative technologies to get successful outcomes while still protecting data using contemporary encryption, sensitivity labelling, and other measures. To get you started for the same we will explain the sign in process to power BI using ms office 365 and Azure AD.

Sign in to Power BI using office 365

Without switching programmes, get the data insights you want directly from the Microsoft 365 products you already use. Utilise the Microsoft 365 apps you already use to access the business intelligence data you require from Power BI.

STEP 1: Browse the Power BI service.

App.powerbi.com should be entered into your preferred browser.

STEP 2: Fill in your email address.

Microsoft will inquire about your existing Microsoft 365 account when you initially go in the SIGN IN option. Your Microsoft 365 password must be entered in the required fields. Your Outlook and Office login information, as well as your email, are the same.

STEP 3: Examine the terms and conditions.

Take a look at the rules or the terms and conditions. Select ‘Start’ after checking the box if you’re in agreement for the same.

STEP 5: AND YOU ARE DONE!

NOTE- Analyse your homepage arrival

Power BI displays your home landing page when you initially use the service. Pick it up from the navigation pane if ‘Home’ does not open.

Sign in to PowerBI using Azure AD

With the integration of Azure Active Directory APIs with Power BI, you can easily download pre-built content packs and dig deeper into all the activities within your Azure Active Directory. All this data is enhanced by the rich visualisation experience Power BI offers. Also, you can create your own dashboard and share it easily with anyone in your organisation.

Step:1 Signup with Power BI

Use a user from your Power BI tenancy to get into Power BI. This user will be registered using the Azure AD app. When you construct the Azure AD app, utilise this user. To go on to the next stage, select Next.

Step:2 Register your application

Create An Azure application for Azure Active Directory (Azure AD). The Power BI REST APIs are accessible with the help of the Azure AD app, which also creates permissions for Power BI REST resources.

STEP:3 Establish a workplace (optional)

Enter a name for your workspace and choose create workspace to start a new one. The summary box displays the name and ID of your workspace. For use later, copy these values.

STEP:4 Import content (optional)

Select Upload a.pbix file, find your file using the file browser, and then select Import to construct a prototype Power BI app using your own report.

STEP:5 Grant permissions

Choose Accept in the pop-up box after choosing Grant permissions. The APIs you chose (also referred to as scopes) can now be accessed by your Azure AD app using the user that is currently logged in.

Conclusion

We’ve provided a step by step guide to the signing in process of power BI above. If you are still facing any issues regarding signing up or logging in or even managing your operations through power BI, feel free to contact our team of experts dealing with business intelligence tools at Princeton IT Services.
