We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable System Admin to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for architecting technology solutions and systems that align with the business requirements while adhering to Technical and Security Service standards. The role involves troubleshooting and resolving issues related to OS configuration, Stealth COIs, storage, and networking for Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) business applications. Additionally, the candidate will collaborate with COTS vendors and various business areas for installation, configuration, testing, and support.
Architect technology solutions/systems that meet or exceed Agency business requirements.
Ensure alignment with Technical and Security Service standards and strategies.
Troubleshooting and Resolution:
Troubleshoot and resolve OS configuration, Stealth COI’s, storage, and networking issues for COTS business applications.
Address issues related to COTS software, including performance tuning, log analysis, and security.
Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with COTS vendors and Agency business areas for COTS installation, configuration, and testing.
Collaborate with external vendors and business areas for COTS application implementation.
Systems Analysis and Enhancement:
Review existing systems architecture and provide detailed specifications for proposed solutions.
Recommend appropriate solutions, upgrades, or replacements, collaborating with technical staff.
Research and Implementation:
Research solutions and collaborate with COTS External Vendors and Agency Business Areas for COTS application implementation.
Implement system enhancements to improve performance and reliability.
Mentoring and Support:
Provide mentoring and guidance to other Business Application Services team members.
Offer L3 Operational/Technical support for an enterprise-level distributed environment, including Stealth COIs and storage/networking for COTS business applications.
Analysis and Documentation:
Analyze implemented systems, identify problems, and evaluate data.
Document data on COTS, including performance tuning, log analysis, and security.
Scripting and Automation:
Script repetitive management tasks using PowerShell, WMI, and other scripting languages.
Utilize a ticketing system to track and manage incidents, service requests, problems, changes, and release/deployment.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Proven experience as a Systems Architect or similar role.
In-depth knowledge of COTS business applications and associated technologies.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Scripting expertise using PowerShell, WMI, and other languages.
Familiarity with ticketing systems and ITIL practices.
